I'm pretty old-school (still like to talk on the phone and write cards!) but definitely see the value of social media both personally and also from a business perspective. The book that really helped get my feet wet was "The New Rules of Marketing & PR" by David Meerman Scott. My new bible is "Web Marketing for Dummies" by Jan Zimmerman. I keep in on my desk at all times!

Just have to mention that social media technology has finally gone to sea on Carnival Dream. Carnival Cruise Line's newest "Fun Ship" features FunHub, the first on-board social network and intranet portal at sea. Cruise passengers can create personal profiles, use the app to meet and interact with others on the ship, send and receive private messages, create communities and discussion groups. Access is available via 36 stations around the ship, and is free on any guest computer or Wi-Fi enable device (notebooks are also available for rent). Pretty cool, huh?
