FANTASY FOOTBALL
I have started a Meeting Planners and Hoteliers Fantasy Football league on CBSsports.com. It's free and it's fun. The league name is "MPN Fantasy Football" and it is a private league so you will need an invitation to get in. If you would like to play, please send me a message with your email and I will send you an invite.
For those of you who have never played it is simple. Right now all you will be asked to do is create your team name. On Thursday, August 28th at 10pm ET, a week prior to the opening of the regular season, we will have a live draft where each person playing will randomly be given a draft pick. You will then proceed to pick a QB, RB, etc. from any team where a player has not already been chosen. Throughout the football season your fantasy team will be awarded points based on how many touchdowns, receptions, rushing yards, etc. each player accumulates. Whichever meeting planner or hotelier's team has the most points at the end of the season wins the bragging rights! It's as simple as that.
Last year was my first year playing. Before, I always thought it sounded kind of hokie but it is actually pretty fun.We all have our favorite football teams, but this makes watching the other teams playing more interesting because your fantasy team might have players from a number of different NFL teams.

I have had some questions as to where to click after registering to join our league. After you register for free with CBS and create your team name, you should see a highlighted box to your right that says you have been invited to join a league. Click on the hyperlink and it will ask you for the league password. After that you should be good to go!

How many participants do we need to compete in this league and how many do we have so far? Perhaps everyone already in the league should invite some of their MPN friends to join in... the draft is coming up soon!

When I last checked we had 7 participants. I have invitations out to 3 others that had requested invites so that would make 10 if they sign up before the deadline (Thursday August 28th). We need 12 in order to play so if anyone is interested please sign up. You don't need to have played before to have a fun time.
