I have started a Meeting Planners and Hoteliers Fantasy Football league on CBSsports.com. It's free and it's fun. The league name is "MPN Fantasy Football" and it is a private league so you will need an invitation to get in. If you would like to play, please send me a message with your email and I will send you an invite.
For those of you who have never played it is simple. Right now all you will be asked to do is create your team name. On Thursday, August 28th at 10pm ET, a week prior to the opening of the regular season, we will have a live draft where each person playing will randomly be given a draft pick. You will then proceed to pick a QB, RB, etc. from any team where a player has not already been chosen. Throughout the football season your fantasy team will be awarded points based on how many touchdowns, receptions, rushing yards, etc. each player accumulates. Whichever meeting planner or hotelier's team has the most points at the end of the season wins the bragging rights! It's as simple as that.
Last year was my first year playing. Before, I always thought it sounded kind of hokie but it is actually pretty fun.We all have our favorite football teams, but this makes watching the other teams playing more interesting because your fantasy team might have players from a number of different NFL teams.

No problem. It looks like you got in the league ok so everything is good to go. Just start thinking about what players you might want to draft and then on August 28th, we will all be online at the same time picking players for our teams and the trash talking will begin.....Although, It looks like it has already begun between you and James!

Matthew, just to clarify for those who haven't done this before, if you can't make it to the live draft on August 28th, the system will make your draft choices for you according to the default (or your customized) player rankings, correct? That's the way it works on Yahoo but I haven't used CBS.

Yes, that is correct. Anyone can make thier draft rankings and I believe that if those players that you preferred are not picked then the computer will pick them for you on draft day. Otherwise, the computer will randomly select a player for you.
To make your draft rankings login into the fantasy league page and you should see a yellow box that says "message center" There should be a link that says Rank Your Players. Follow the link and click on the rank your players icon. You will then be able to list your preferences from top to bottom for each position.
